(People's Daily) In the first half of 2021, Vietnam's shrimp export activities maintained a steady growth, an increase of 13.
7% compared with the same period in 2020
    .
It is predicted that relying on the advantages of various free trade agreements, Vietnam's shrimp export activities will continue to maintain a good growth trend in the second half of 2021, ensuring the stability of a competitive sales market
    .
However, the export speed of shrimp depends to a large extent on the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic
    .

In 2021, the shrimp industry in Vietnam will continue to face many challenges and crises, as well as challenges in export activities.
In particular, many countries have changed their quarantine and food safety regulations on imported products
    .

In this context, in the first half of 2021, Vietnamese shrimps will continue to maintain a relatively high growth rate for major markets (except China), and Vietnamese shrimps will continue to grow at a high rate for the member states of the Comprehensive Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), the United States and the European Union.
Exports in other major markets and regions have achieved double-digit growth, with a growth rate of 14-36%
    .
Vietnam’s shrimp exports to Japan and South Korea increased by 3-4% respectively
    .
It is worth integrating that although Australia and Russia are not Vietnam’s main import markets, the growth rates of the two markets have reached 80-90%
    .

In July this year, at the 2021 Shrimp Industry Development Measures Conference, the Directorate General of Fisheries of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam predicted that under the effective control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the shrimp industry in Vietnam will be subject to various free trade agreements in the second half of this year.
Advantages will continue to achieve good growth and ensure the stable situation of commercial shrimp farming and processing
    .

In 2021, the Vietnamese fishery strives to produce 980,000 tons of shrimp for the year, of which black tiger prawn production will reach 280,000 tons, white penaeus prawn production will reach 633,000 tons, and the rest will be other shrimps
    .
In 2021, shrimp exports will reach the goal of US$3.
    8-4 billion
