The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam stated that reducing the product categories related to the detection of the new crown virus for imported raw materials and using scientific and technological means to speed up customs clearance procedures will help promote agricultural trad.

The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) had petitioned the government to revise the quarantine regulations, saying they created "big problems" for the seafood industry, noting that maintaining and expanding the quarantine list of "processed products" is an overkill and unnecessary measure.

VASEP also wants to eliminate quarantine on imported seafood that is reprocessed for domestic consumption, as these products are assessed to pose no risk of the spread of aquatic disease.
