As import demand picks up, Vietnamese prices have ended a three-month decline, with pepper now trading at 40,000 dong a kilogram.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade's Industrial and Trade Information Center said the price of black pepper in the Western Plains region on May 14 was between 40,000 and 43,000 dong a kilogram, an increase of 300 to 1,000 dong a kilogram over the previous day.
the price of black pepper increased by 5,000-7,000 dong a kilogram compared to the first week of April.
price of white pepper was between 57,000 and 58,000 dong a kilogram, up 1.7 percent from the end of March, but well below the price of 71,000 dong a kilogram in the same period last year.

According to statistics, in April 2020, Vietnam's pepper exports amounted to 40,000 tons, generating US$80 million in foreign exchange, while exports and exports decreased by 0.7% and 3.7% month-on-month, respectively.
