During the 2022 National Trade Promotion Event, the Economic and Commercial Section of the Embassy of Vietnam in Germany, in collaboration with the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA), the German Coffee Association (DKV), and Neumann Kaffee, held a seminar in Germany from October 29 to November 1 to connect
Vietnamese coffee exporters with German coffee importers.

The seminar was held at the headquarters of the Neumann Coffee Group in Hamburg and was considered an important part of
the trade promotion activity, according to the reporter of the Vietnam News Agency in Germany.

At the seminar, Bui Wangying, Commercial Counsellor of the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany, introduced the Vietnam-Germany economic cooperation mechanism, such as the Vietnam-Germany Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation (UBHH) and the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

These cooperation mechanisms and agreements play an active role
in promoting the export of Vietnamese coffee to Germany and EU countries.

Holger Preibisch, president of the German Coffee Association, said German green coffee bean imports reached 1.
    1 million tons
    in 2021.
Vietnam is the second largest exporter of coffee to Germany after Brazil, accounting for 18.
    63%
of the German coffee import market.
German coffee imports from Vietnam have remained stable, accounting for 18% to 25%
    of Germany's total coffee imports.

Nguyen Thi Thi Shui representative of Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association introduced the production and supply of coffee in Vietnam and the sustainable development goals
    of the coffee industry.
According to reports, the association will hold the 2022 Vietnam Coffee Day in Hanoi from December 9 to 11 this year, and German coffee enterprises are welcome to participate
    .

After the seminar, the two enterprises interacted and exchanged information, understood each other's needs and capabilities, and explored the cooperation opportunities
    between the two sides.

The trade promotion activity of the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association has achieved positive results
    .
Vietnamese enterprises have the opportunity to meet with German coffee importers and coffee associations to learn more about the advanced technology of coffee processing, preservation and storage processes, so as to improve the quality of exported coffee products, promote coffee exports to the German and even EU markets, and make full use of the mechanism of EVFTA to promote the growth
of coffee import and export volume.
