Vietnam's "Business Daily" reported on December 11 that Vietnam is the world's third largest producer of cinnamon , second only to Indonesia and China
    .
At present, demand exceeds supply, and the market is beneficial to producers
    .
The cinnamon market has great potential for development, but it also poses many challenges to the sustainable development of cinnamon in Vietnam
    .

According to statistics from the World Spice Association, the output of cinnamon in Vietnam ranks third in the world, and the output of anise and cinnamon is second only to China
    .
Anise cinnamon is sold well in India, the Middle East, Japan, South Korea, the United States and European countries, with an export income of approximately US$400 million per year
    .
In countries with developed processing industries, cinnamon and anise are the main ingredients in the production of cosmetics and medicines
    .

In addition to the above advantages, the cinnamon industry also faces some difficulties and challenges
    .
According to Nguyen Guiying, chairman of the Vietnam Export Production Joint Stock Company Management Association (VINASAMEX), at present, farmers who follow the old crops do not pay enough attention to the application of advanced science and technology
    .
70% of the cinnamon and fennel seeds are produced by local people based on experience, and the quality is not guaranteed.
Only about 30% of the seeds are provided by agricultural companies or new planting projects of the local government
    .

Currently, Vietnam has more than 600 companies in the field of spices
    .
However, most of them are trading companies, only interested in buying and selling, and not interested in establishing contacts with farmers who grow raw materials
    .
In addition, most units operate in a family mode, with small output, no cohesion and information sharing.
In many cases, unfair competition still exists, which weakens the competitiveness of Vietnam's cinnamon industry
    .
