Australia's largest rice distributor, SunRice Group, plans to collaborate with Vietnamese and Australian researchers to research and cultivate new rice seeds to combat the impact of climate change and increase rice production and exports
in Vietnam's Kowloon River Plain, the Vietnam News Agency reported on October 30, 2022.

The project is jointly implemented by universities and scientific research institutions such as the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), the University of Queensland, Viet Nam An Giang University, Can Tho University and the Jiulongjiang Plain Rice Research Institute, with a total investment of A$5 million (about US$3.
    5 million)
    over four years.
According to the Australian International Agricultural Research Center, after the successful cultivation of new rice seeds, it will be able to effectively alleviate the pressure of climate change faced by rice cultivation in the Jiulongjiang Plain, and at the same time, it will also help solve the water shortage problem faced by rice cultivation in Australia, increase rice production, and bring tangible benefits
to agricultural production in the two countries.
