On March 26 , 2021 , the team of Professor Tian Zhigang, Professor Peng Hui, Professor Sun Rui from University of Science and Technology of China, and Professor Eric Vivier from the University of Marseille, France ( four co - corresponding authors) published in the internationally renowned academic journal Science "Liver type 1 innate lymphoid cells develop locally via an interferon-γ-dependent loop" academic paper .

This study discovered the differentiation potential and regulatory mechanism of adult hepatic hematopoietic precursor cells into type 1 innate lymphocytes (liver I LC1 , ie, liver - resident NK cells ), and revealed a new pathway for the extramedullary development of innate lymphocytes .

The occurrence of hematopoietic immunity in the body is a dynamic and orderly process
    .

In the past, it was believed that the postnatal bone marrow was the main hematopoietic organ, and the renewal and replenishment of immune cells depended on bone marrow hematopoiesis

By comparing fetal liver, adult liver, bone marrow and peripheral blood hematopoietic precursor cells, the research group found that there is a group of Lin ? Sca-1 + Mac-1 +  (LSM) cells in adult mouse liver similar to fetal liver hematopoietic stem cells
    .

In vivo transfusion experiments confirmed that it has the developmental potential of various lymphoid and myeloid cells, and can differentiate into liver ILC1 through the intermediate transition stage cells

Figure 1 The pathway and regulatory mechanism of the development and differentiation of intrahepatic hematopoietic precursor cells to I LC1

The research work has been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences
