Introduction: on Monday, January 24, 2005, the U.S Department of Agriculture released the export inspection report for the week ending January 20, 2005 During the week, US soybean export inspection volume was 39.02 million bushels (1.062 million tons), far higher than the market forecast of 26-28 million bushels This compares with 28.042 million bushels (763200 tons) in the previous week and 29.807 million bushels (811200 tons) in the same period last year As of January 20, the total soybean export inspection of the United States in 2004-05 (September 1-August 31) was 62450.4 million bushels (16996400 tons), compared with 59449.8 million bushels (16179800 tons) in the same period last year In that week, the main countries and regions to which the US soybean export inspection was sent were: 16.609 million bushels (452000 tons) in China, 7.11 million bushels in the Netherlands, 4.722 million bushels in Japan, 2.31 million bushels in Spain and 2.22 million bushels in Portugal
