At present, most parts of Europe have begun to harvest wheat, but the continued dry weather has led to lower production in many countrie.
Among them, Spain's wheat production forecast is lowered by 900,000 tons, France is lowered by 600,000 tons, Italy is lowered by 600,000 tons, Germany is lowered by 400,000 tons, and Hungary is lowered by 400,000 ton.
    Down 300,000 ton.

In Northern Europe, good rains boosted production in the Baltic and Nordic countries Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden and Denmark, each 2 million tonnes higher than last month's forecas.

Increased rains in France in June eased the effects of a prolonged drought, but the rains came too late to boost wheat yield.
Previous heatwaves in France and Spain brought high temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius, putting pressure on wheat crops and exacerbating long-term droughts in both countrie.

Drought intensified in Germany during June, when wheat was less ripe, resulting in lower yield.

Italy has also been hit by drought this year, particularly in the north, where rainfall so far has been less than half the norma.

The situation is also deteriorating in Hungary, especially in the east, where there is little rainfall and high temperatures have exacerbated the drough.
