recently, Yang Yuxin, director of the Committee of Experts on Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents, Deputy Director Yan Fengying and other experts held two meetings with U.S. experts on the revision process and key information of dietary guidelines for Chinese and U.S. residents. The U.S. experts who participated in the meeting included us Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee members for the 2015 edition of the U.S. Version, Frank B. The new 2015 revision began in 2014 with the organization of expert committees to compile information, and a final expert committee report was submitted to the U.S. government in February 2015, which is expected to be released in late 2015 or early 2016. The new U.S. dietary guidelines focus on the following key areas: a greater focus on the overall recommendations of dietary patterns rather than single nutrient recommendations; a no longer demanding limit on fat and cholesterol intake, but an advocate of reducing saturated fatty acids and replacing them with unsaturated fatty acids; reducing added sugar intake; and pushing the FDA to include added sugars in food labels; and promoting whole grains and coarse grains to reduce the intake of fine rice noodles and simple carbohydrates. The above is the proposal of the Committee of Experts, and the final recommendation is based on the new dietary guidelines.China's new 2015 dietary guidelines, which began in 2014, are nearing the end of revision. During the visit, Chinese and American experts exchanged in-depth information on nutrition issues and dietary guidelines, enhancing international cooperation in the field of nutrition between China and the United States. At the same time, we also learned about the revision of the U.S. Dietary Guidelines and the main technical points of view, which played a positive role in improving the revision of the new version of the Dietary Guidelines in China.
