    From November 9th to 10th, following the 4th China International Import Expo, the British government launched a series of large-scale offline food and beverage activities in China.


    The offline event invited chefs to give live cooking demonstrations and shared exclusive British recipes to showcase the diversity and outstanding quality of British ingredients


    There were several themed sessions at the event, highlighting several major elements of British dining culture, such as breakfast, afternoon tea and a pork-themed dinner

    After the event, Sohail Shaikh, Minister Counsellor for Creativity, Consumer Goods, Learning and Food Industries at the UK Department for International Trade, said: "I am very happy to see the chefs show the amazing British ingredients and concoct delicious dishes in live cooking


    During this event, the official theme account of the British government on the Chinese social platform Xiaohongshu, "Such British Food", was also officially launched


    In the coming months, Chinese consumers will be able to access the account to watch videos, get recipes and learn more about food


    As the protagonist of one of the videos, Hema chef Lu Zhenhua said: "This is a very good experience


    In addition, the UK-China Business Connect Online Platform, a digital platform recently fully upgraded by the UK Department for International Trade, has opened an industry page for "Agriculture and Food and Beverage"


    John Edwards, the British trade envoy to China, said: "I am very excited about this comprehensively upgraded online platform


    All along, the British government has been committed to attracting Chinese consumers and buyers for the British food and beverage industry, and to provide assistance for the trade between the UK and China
