Xinxing Daily reported on November 20: In the 2021/22 fiscal year, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development and the Bureau of Statistics with the technical support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) conducted a comprehensive survey of large and medium-sized livestock farms in Nepal, the main purpose of which is to investigate key indicators related to livestock size and characteristics, and measure commercial livestock farms
in Nepal from economic, social and technological dimensions.

According to the statistics of Nepal's Ministry of Agriculture, there are 6,486 commercial livestock farms in Nepal, of which one-fifth are in the first province and Gandaki province, mainly 2,295 sheep/goat farms (35%), dairy farms 1,233 (19%), 914 buffalo farms (14%), etc
