    The U.
    S.
Fish and Wildlife Service has issued a proposal to list four species of sturgeon as endangered, including the Russian sturgeon (Acipenser gueldenstaedtii), A.
    nudiventris, A.
    persicus and star sturgeon (A.
    stellatus
    ).

If the proposal is adopted, the import, export, fishing or other related actions related to the above four types of sturgeon will be illegal, and the delivery, reception and transportation
of these species will be prohibited in interstate and foreign trade.

Industry insiders said that although wild sturgeon populations do face serious challenges, there are many kinds of sturgeon, and sturgeon farming has a history of decades, which has little impact on
    wild populations.
The aquaculture roe supply chain is easy to trace, and the industry itself is a major contributor to the conservation of endangered sturgeon
    .

The World Sturgeon Conservation Society (WSCS) also asked the U.
    S.
Fish and Wildlife Service to reconsider its proposed regulations
