    Department of Commerce (DOC) released the final conclusions
    of the 18th Anti-dumping Tax Collection and Administration Review (POR18) for Vietnamese basa fish for the period from August 1, 2020 to July 31, 2021.

    At the request of stakeholders, the Department of Commerce has retained the anti-dumping tax rates
    applicable to each company based on the results of the recent review.
    During POR17, the Ministry of Commerce determined that 2 Vietnamese compulsory lawsuit-response enterprises would be subject to a tax rate of US$0.
    00/kg and US$3.
    87/kg respectively, 1 company would be subject to a separate tax rate of US$1.
    94/kg, and 32 companies would be subject to a national tax price of US$2.

    During this POR18 review, Vietnamese export companies did not meet the separate tax rate and therefore received a national tax rate
    of $2.

    Currently, the Ministry of Commerce is accepting applications for the 19th Anti-Dumping Tax Review (POR19) for Vietnamese catfish for
    the period from 1 August 2021 to 31 July 2022.
    The Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to work closely with the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), Vietnamese catfish exporters and the United States to monitor and update information and address related issues to ensure the legitimate rights and interests
    of seafood.

    In the first eight months of this year, Vietnam's basa fish exports totaled more than US$1.
    8 billion, up 81% from the same period in 2021, and China and the United States are the two main export markets
    for basa fish.
    Turnover for the first eight months of 2022 was close to $540 million and $421 million,
    respectively.
