allergies pose a serious threat to human health, especially under the synergy of atmospheric pollutants, which can lead to complex changes in the corresponding conditions. In order to protect human health and effectively alleviate the negative effects of pollen allergy, it is urgent to analyze the physiological mechanism of environmental factors affecting pollen allergy.
recently, Zhang Wei, a professor at Shanghai University's
School of Life, published a research paper online in The Holistic Environmental Science, which clarified the role of autophagy reactions caused by external environmental factors in alleviating the condition of pollen-allergic pneumonia.
The researchers selected mice and pulmonary cortide cells as research subjects for the typical hanging Suzuki pollen in Shanghai, and used multidisciplinary cross-cutting methods to comprehensively analyze the physiological, bio-biochloric characteristic changes and gene and protein difference expression of pollen-induced allergic pneumonia through the establishment of animal models; Through in vivo and in vivo experiments, it is proved that autophagy can affect the relevant inflammatory response mediated by TSLP by regulating the level of endo-active oxygen in cells.
study not only perfects and enriches the understanding of the mechanisms associated with pollen allergy to environmental pollutants. On the one hand, air pollution can enhance the immunogenicity of pollen allergens and aggravate the esoteric form of allergic diseases, on the other hand, it can also alleviate and reduce the incidence of pollen allergic pneumonia by stimulating autophagy of cells. This provides new ideas and theoretical support for the prevention and clinical treatment of pollen allergy disorders.
this research has been funded and supported by projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Shanghai Natural Science Foundation, and the opening of key laboratories for energy crop breeding and application in Shanghai. (Source: Wang Fang, China Science Journal)
