In a new study, silane polymer emulsion treatments are used to increase the strength of permeable concrete while maintaining its permeability.
the physical properties of permeable concrete were studied in this experiment. Membrane formation capability tests and X-ray microscopy scans were performed to determine the effect of silane polymer emulsions on film-forming behavior and thickness distribution of cement
.
significantly improved
results through silane treatment show that silane treatment significantly improves the strength of RA permeable concrete, while maintaining acceptable permeability due to the redrawing of cement slurry. The intermediate structure analysis confirmed that more cement slurry had gathered around the bonding area between adjacent RA particles. The results show that the method can make effective use of cement slurry and improve the strength of permeable concrete.
the study was published in Volume 122 of the Cement and Concrete Study, August 2019, pp. 72-82.
