Beijing meeting
The objective of the meeting was to sort out and determine the DRIs values
for this revision.
The three-day meeting was carried out according to the following contents: the four longitudinal working groups (UL, Geriatrics, Maternal and Child, and Chronic Diseases) were respectively introduced by Professor Zhang Lishi, Professor Sun Jianqin, Professor Wang Zhiyi and Professor Ling Wenhua, and the expert committee discussed and confirmed
the longitudinal review opinions.
Subsequently, the heads of the seven horizontal working groups (energy and macronutrients, macroelements, trace elements, fat-soluble vitamins, water-soluble vitamins, water and dietary fiber, food non-nutrient components) introduced the numerical revisions of this group, and discussed the comparison, question answering and determination
one by one.
During the meeting, a cross-review of manuscripts was also arranged, and the direction and opinions on the revision direction and opinions
of the manuscript text, framework, charts, etc.
were proposed.
In principle, the meeting completed the determination of the DRIs values of 34 nutrients such as energy, protein, carbohydrates, fats, minerals, vitamins, water and dietary fiber, as well as 24 food non-nutrient components such as catechins, proanthocyanidins and soy isoflavones, and once again discussed and clarified the framework of the manuscript, and reached a consensus
on the main methods and controversial points.
In the summary of the meeting, Professor Yang Yuexin, Chairman of the Committee, once again clarified and emphasized the scientific and accurate positioning of DRIs, as well as the principles of numerical revision and manuscript writing, and emphasized that efforts must be made in terms of reliable evidence and scientific rationality.
The expert committee should focus on research solutions to nutrient requirements and related technical problems for different ages, continue to optimize the steps and procedures determined by the "numerical values", build a standard system of dietary nutrient requirements covering the whole population, consolidate the evidence base, and further improve the ability
of nutrition science to serve healthy China.
