According to a report by the Philippine Business Mirror on November 22, the Philippine Internal Revenue Service (BIR) issued the latest memorandum notice, clarifying the list of perishable foods exempted from 12% import value-added tax , expanding the scope of tax exemption, and requiring All unprocessed imported fruits and vegetables are exempt from 12% VAT .
