U.S. researchers said Tuesday they have found a new way to stop pain at its root, promising to relieve pain caused by chemotherapy for cancer.

, shows that injecting a natural protein, the lipoprotein A-I binding protein, into the spinal cord in mice inhibits and reverses inflammatory responses and cellular activity associated with the pain-producing process. The pain relief effect lasted about two months and did not affect the movement of mice.
the researchers explained that the lipoprotein A-I binding protein had previously been used to treat atherosclerosis. New research suggests it can also suppress toll-like subject 4, which is located on the surface of a cell and can "search" like an antenna for signs of infection or tissue damage, which is associated with pain.
