, August 21, 2015, the founding conference of the Medical Food and Nutrition Support Branch of the Chinese Nutrition Society was held in Shanghai. Researcher Yang Yuexin, Chairman of the Chinese Nutrition Society, Professor Sun Jianqin, Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Nutrition Society, Professor Cai Wei, professor Chen Xiafei, an elder in the field of nutrition in China, and more than 60 other clinical nutrition workers from all over the country attended the meeting.conference was chaired by Yang Yuxin, Chairman of the Chinese Nutrition Society. First, Professor Cai Wei, head of the preparatory group for the Medical Food and Nutrition Support Branch, reported on the background and necessity of setting up the branch. Then, Chairman Yang Yuxin briefed the delegates on the principles and past of the candidates to be appointed, and read out the information of the candidates for the committee, liu Peipei of the Organization and Member Development Department of the Chinese Nutrition Society read out the relevant regulations on the election of the sub-committee of the Chinese Nutrition Society, and the delegates applauded and adopted them. After the on-site ballot election, the proposed candidates received more than 2/3 of the votes, was officially elected as a member of the Medical Food and Nutrition Support Branch (see appendix to the list), after which the elected members were elected to the leadership of the Branch, and Professor Cai Wei was elected as the Chairman of the Committee.

On the morning of August 22, 2015, the Medical Food and Nutrition Support Branch held its first working meeting, and Chairman Yang Yuanxin once again stressed the need for the establishment of the Medical Food and Nutrition Support Branch, noting that the branch should set up an academic platform for experts in related fields to collaborate and work together, and hoped that the branch would do a good job in promoting the awareness of medical food in the whole society, promoting the development of China's special medical food market, and promoting the development of nutrition support in the field of medicine.Professor Cai Wei, Chairman of the First Committee, speaking on behalf of the members, pointed out that medical food is a kind of food used by people with disease or specific disease status, is a kind of intestinal nutrition food, China's medical food has a long history of use, but lack of corresponding food safety standards, medical food management problems need to be solved. In view of the current development of medical food in China, the first committee of the Medical Food and Nutrition Support Branch will, under the guidance of the Chinese Nutrition Society, learn from foreign advanced experience, actively explore, carry out multidisciplinary academic exchanges and scientific research collaboration, enhance the role of medical food in clinical nutrition support, and provide reference for the implementation and improvement of relevant policies and regulations of medical food in China.Finally, Han Junhua, Deputy Director of the Supervision Department of the State Food and Drug Administration and Newly Elected Vice Chairman of the Sub-Committee, respectively, made academic reports on "The Difficulties and Challenges of China's Implementation of Special Medical Use Formulated Foods (FSMP)" and "FSMP Clinical Application Management".the establishment of the Medical Food and Nutrition Support Branch is an important embodiment of the Chinese Nutrition Society's ability to adapt to social needs and its own development needs and improve its organizational system, further strengthening its own capacity-building and enhancing its ability to serve the society and the government.
