    Metabolic-related diseases, such as obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, are among the first to be discovered as risk factors related to severe COVID-19


    Recently, the research group of Professor Rongfu Wang from the University of Southern California published an important scientific paper entitled "Pharmacological inhibition of fatty acid synthesis blocks SARS-CoV-2 replication" in Nature Metabolism , confirming that the fatty acid synthesis pathway is the new coronavirus in the host cell.

    The article first uses a large-scale RNA interference library (RNAi library) to screen, inhibits the expression of metabolism-related genes one by one in the host cell, and detects the infection and replication ability of the new coronavirus in it
