    Indonesia's Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) and the Marine Stewardship Council signed an agreement to strengthen the country's commitment
    to building a more sustainable marine economy for seafood, Nov.

    The memorandum of understanding will establish a national fisheries improvement program
    for tuna, mud crab, crab, shrimp, squid, large pelagic fish and small pelagic fish.
    The Marine Stewardship Council will work to improve the sustainability of these fisheries and promote these sustainable fishery products
    in Indonesia and internationally.
     
    MMAF Secretary General Antam Novambar said that Indonesia is the second largest wild seafood fishing country in the world, and the signing of the MoU is the second agreement between the Indonesian government and MSC, which will bring many benefits
    to Indonesia.
     
    Through the agreement, MSC will continue to promote "understanding of Indonesia's fisheries among stakeholders, including from catch, fleet, catch, supply chain and price, as well as domestic and foreign markets.
