On November 6, 2018, the European Commission (EU) issued Regulation 2018/1648, approving xylo-oligosaccharides as a new type of food on the market, according to the Official Gazette of the European Union.
list of authorized new foods established by the European Union (EU) 2017/2470, the food categories and maximum dosings used are shown below.
The maximum level of use for a particular food category is white bread, wholemeal bread, cereal breakfast food, biscuit 14 g/kg soy milk, yogurt (*) 3.5g/kg jam products, chocolate candy 30g/kg, when used in dairy products, LUC shall not replace any milk content in whole or in part . . . the maximum level calculated on the basis of the specifications in Powder Form 1.
