    , Ltd.
    held the launch ceremony
of the 2022/23 Chilean cherry season.

Chile's SimFruit website reported on December 21 that Rodolfo Montecinos, consul general of the Chilean Consulate General in Guangzhou, Zheng Nanshen, general manager of Guangzhou Jiangjiaohui Market Service Management Co.
    , Ltd.
, and Freya Huang, ASOEX marketing coordinator, attended the event
    .

Rodev said Chile has become China's second-largest fruit supplier, after Thailand
    .
"Chilean cherry harvest season coincides with the Chinese New Year holiday, and on this occasion, the excellent taste and festive color of cherries will bring joy and good luck
    to Chinese consumers.
    "

Zheng Nanshen believes that in the past few years, fruit merchants have been actively cooperating with epidemic prevention policies to overcome severe challenges, hoping that market participants can work together to promote Chilean fruits to more consumers, and wish Chilean cherries a significant increase in sales this season
    .

Freya Wong pointed out that the ASOEX cherry committee's latest forecast said Chilean cherry exports will increase by 25% this season to 446,000 tons
    .
"At this time, the Chilean cherry industry will make every effort to provide consumers with the highest quality fruit to celebrate the Chinese New Year
    .
It is hoped that people will be able to enjoy delicious Chilean cherries during the upcoming traditional festival, with family, with friends, or at work or at home
    .

The Chinese New Year in 2023 falls on January 22, about 10 days earlier than in 2022, so the cherry transportation plan is also more compact
    .

Following the arrival of the first batch of Chilean cherries by sea in Hong Kong on December 9, cherries have ushered in the peak arrival period
    .
In the coming weeks, ASOEX and its Cherry Committee, as well as ProChile, also plan to organize promotional activities in fruit wholesale markets in Shanghai, Chengdu, Qingdao, Guiyang, Changsha and Baoding to support cherry wholesalers and retailers and encourage consumers to buy cherries
