According to article Chinese 43 of the Plant Health and Agricultural Inputs Act of the Ministry of Agriculture and Defence, published in the Official Gazette on 31 July, the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture has approved the registration of 38 new crop protection products, all of which contain active ingredients that have previously been registered in Brazil.
Bruno Breitenbach, General Coordinator of Agrochemicals and Similar Products in Brazil, believes that these registrations are important for the Brazilian pesticide market because they reduce the concentration of the pesticide market and increase competition, thereby promoting fair trade and reducing the cost of agricultural production in Brazil.
Of the registered products, 13 are biological products, 11 of which contain biological pest control agents that can infect Brazilian crops, such as microorganisms such as spore white sepsis, desporome spores or golden turtle green rigid bacteria.
product is the use of Cotesiaflavipes wasps for bio-control of sugar cane cocoons.
is also used to control pests using indica oil, a natural insecticide extracted from indica plants native to India, which can even be used in organic crops.
addition to indica extracts, four other biopesticide products are also licensed for pest control in organic crops.
45 products in Brazil are considered low-impact (biological and organic) by 2020.
