According to Bangladesh's Daily Sun news on September 1, the Bangladeshi government will import 500,000 tons of wheat from Russia and 330,000 tons of rice
from India and Vietnam.
The Government Procurement Committee of Meng's cabinet approved the proposals, as well as a number of others
, at its meeting on Wednesday.

Bulk wheat will be purchased from Russia at a total cost of Tk 20.
