The Peruvian Ministry of Production has just established a quota of anchovy for the second season of the north-central region in 2022, totalling 2.
28 million tons, an increase of 11.
5%
compared to last year's season (2.

The new fishing season started immediately on November 23, so the timing seemed a bit rushed
.

Peru's production ministry says scientists will spend another five days biomonitoring before the start of the season, including the number and proportion of juvenile fish, before recommending
conservation measures.

The Peruvian Institute of Marine Research (Imarpe) will revise
the fishing recommendations based on the findings and specific biological and environmental conditions.
Normally, the season will end
when all anchovy quotas have been completed.
