According to Le Heng, deputy director of the Vietnam Aquatic Products Export and Processing Association, affected by the new crown pneumonia epidemic in Vietnam, the volume of Vietnamese aquatic products exported to China has continued to decline from July 2021 to the present.
It fell by 36% in August and 51% in September
.
As of the end of September 2021, Vietnam’s exports of aquatic products to China have fallen by 20.
5% year-on-year to only US$768 million
.
Among them, the exports of shrimp and pangasius accounted for 39% and 36% of the total aquatic products exported to China, reaching 298 million US dollars and 279 million US dollars, respectively, a year-on-year decrease of 23% and 20% from 2020
.
It is expected that after Vietnam adopts more flexible methods of epidemic prevention and control in the fourth quarter, the export volume of aquatic products to China in 2021 is still expected to remain above US$1 billion
.
