From September 22 to 24, the 4th Global Aquaculture Conference co-hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization and the Asia-Pacific Regional Aquaculture Center Network was held in Shanghai.
Tang Renjian said that aquatic products are the third largest source of human food protein and an important part of ensuring world food security
Tang Renjian put forward three proposals: First, adhere to innovation-driven, strengthen the research and development and promotion of new aquaculture varieties, new technologies and new models, and rely on mechanisms such as the South-South Cooperation of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations to promote scientific and technological exchanges and personnel training
Ma Youxiang, Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, presided over the opening ceremony of the conference and delivered a speech at the closing ceremony, expressing his hope to deepen practical cooperation with countries around the world, jointly promote the sustainable development of the global aquaculture industry, and contribute to ensuring world food security
With the theme of "Aquaculture for Food Supply and Sustainable Development", the conference was held online and offline.
