, June 17, 2016, the Chinese Nutrition Society held the 2nd Asian Nutrition Leaders Summit (ANLS) at the Beijing Hotel. A total of 22 nutrition leaders and experts from nine Asian countries and regions, including Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, attended the forum. China's participants were mainly from the Chinese Nutrition Society, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Institute of Nutrition and Health, the Ministry of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition Development Institute, and the National Food Safety Risk Assessment Center. In addition, the guests invited to the meeting included Dr. Xie Jobo, Director of the Health, Nutrition and Water Environment Division of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), and Ms. Chang Suying.it is well known that the global community is increasingly concerned about the dual nutritional burden facing Asia and that the fundamental challenge now is to continuously improve nutrition through the implementation of uniform policies and the optimization and coordination of action by all relevant sectors. To this end, the goal of the second Asian Nutrition Leaders Summit is to support China in adopting more nutrition policies and actions to promote china's efforts to improve malnutrition. The theme of the Summit was "Nutrition Policies and Actions in Asian Countries", and experts from Asian countries discussed in-depth the following related topics: (1) nutrition policies for the general population, mothers, children, students and the elderly in Asian countries;.
