On January 16, the Institute of Subtropical Agroecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences organized the 2022 annual summary meeting
of the national key research and development plan project "Key Technologies for Obstacle Reduction and Quality Improvement and Capacity Improvement in Medium and Low-yield Rice Fields".

The leaders of the five sub-projects reported
on the specific implementation plan and research progress of the technical model of reducing obstacles and capacity improvement in latent and infertile low-yield rice fields.
The Advisory Expert Group conducted in-depth discussions and comments on the details of the implementation plan, task setting and experimental progress of each sub-topic, and put forward suggestions

Tan Wenfeng affirmed the achievements made by the project since its implementation for more than a year, and pointed out that the project focuses on the analysis of the improved technical mechanism and model construction of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and the proposed technical model should strengthen the cost calculation of benefits, be able to be popularized and demonstrated and applied, and form standards

Wu Jinshui said in his concluding speech that he will seriously absorb and understand the opinions of experts, optimize and adjust the implementation plan of the project, strengthen the excavation of bright spots and innovative work, accelerate the exchange and integration between various sub-topics, and promote the efficient implementation of
the project.
This meeting summarized and sorted out the problems existing in the current stage of the plan, and refined and adjusted the project implementation plan in a targeted manner, laying a solid foundation
for the implementation of subsequent projects.
The implementation of this project will eventually form a technical model for the reduction of reducing substances in latent paddy fields, the construction of thick fertile cultivation layers in barren farmland and the directional cultivation of biofertility, which will provide important solutions for the reduction of obstacles and productivity improvement of low- and medium-yield paddies in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, which is of great significance
to ensure China's food security and increase farmers' income.
