Thirteen scientists, including Academician Gao Fu, Academician Yan Xiyun, Academician Tian Zhigang and Academician Ma Guanghui, the chief scientists of the special project, respectively reported and exchanged
views on five project directions: virus traceability, cross-species transmission and pathogenic mechanism, pathogenic pathogen response and immune escape, new concepts and strategies of immune intervention, and new methods and technologies of infection and immunity research.
According to statistics, as of June 2022, in leading the development of the discipline, 35 CNS journals have been published in special projects, with a high level of PNAS or above 253 SCI papers; In terms of supporting the development of the industry, the world's first protein recombinant subvaccine has been approved for use, and the world's first therapeutic antibody against RBD has been developed; In terms of talent training, it has cultivated a group of academicians, outstanding young people, excellent young talents and other outstanding talents, and at the same time provided a number of policy suggestions and consulting reports for the country, and strived to become a high-level think tank
