DSM Prize for Science and Technology has been held in Europe for more than two decades. The 2017 DSM Colorful Science and Technology Awards landed in China for the third time, in close cooperation with the Chinese Academy of Nutrition, to jointly commend outstanding young scholars in the field of nutrition science.

After the pre-selection committee's review, four doctoral students were shortlisted for the final round and invited to participate in the "China Nutrition Society and DSM Nutrition Science Young Scholars Symposium" held in Beijing on May 22-24 during the 13th National Nutrition Science Congress.Four finalists, including PhD students and the jury and conference moderators the jury of leading international scientists selected Chen Wei of Tianjin Medical University as the winner among the four finalists.
