    Comprehensive Thai media reported on October 27 that the Thai Ministry of Commerce intends to implement the cassava strategy for 2021-2024 , actively explore overseas markets and improve international competitiveness

    The cassava strategy is part of the farmers' income guarantee project.
    The project has been implemented for 2 years.
    This year is the third year of implementation.
    It will continue to provide assistance to more than 520,000 cassava farmers across the country
    .
     
    As demand and exports continue to increase in overseas markets, cassava products processing cassava has become the main crop of income in Thailand
    .
    Therefore, the Ministry of Commerce has formulated an active strategy to open up foreign agricultural product markets, improve national competitiveness, promote GDP growth, and increase the income of entrepreneurs and farmers at all levels
    .
    Lead farmers, agricultural teams, and commercial teams to work together to build Thailand into the world's high-quality agricultural products and food center
    .
     
    At present, there are more than 50 prefectures growing cassava and more than 520,000 farmers
    .
    Previously, the price of cassava for the farmers' income guarantee project was 2.
    5 baht per kilogram and no more than 100 tons per household.
    There are other measures to increase the price.
    If the price is higher than the guaranteed price, the government does not have to pay the difference to the farmers
    .
