Tanzania plans to develop 15 standards for inspection methods for sugar products

On November 22, 2022, the Tanzania Bureau of Standards issued a standard announcement to formulate 15 draft
standards for inspection methods for sugar products.
Some of the draft standards are: (1) the detection method of lead content in white sugar, raw sugar and other products, specifically the colorimetric method, with a detection limit of 0.
5mg/kg; (2) Detection method of sulfite in sugar, specifically enzyme catalytic method, detection limit 4mg/kg; (3) The detection method of copper content in refined sugar, specifically colorimetric method, with a detection limit of 0.
1mg/kg; (4) Water content detection methods in sugars (including all kinds of raw sugar, refined sugar, sucrose, etc.
), specifically the drying loss on weight method

The comment period on the above draft standards ends on January 16
