On February 8, 2021, Taiwan informed the WTO of the draft directive (G/SPS/N/TPKM/561) and proposed emergency phytosanitary measures for imported eggplant and chili seeds to reduce the biosecurity risks of 4 viruses and 6 virus species.
The emergency management measures taken for the viruses and viruses carried by these seeds are as follows: Imported eggplant and chili seeds shall be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate issued by the phytosanitary department of the exporting country, cumular testing of the seeds before export, and no tomato yellowing crayfish virus (TYLCV), tomato brown wrinkled fruit virus (ToBRFV), tomato mottled flower leaf virus (ToMMV), phoenix leaf virus (PepMV), goldfish latent virus (CLVd), potato spindle tubers virus (PSTVd), tomato bundle dwarf virus (TASVd), tomato melatonin dwarf virus (TCDVd), tomato male strain virus (TPMVd) and chili fruit virus (PCFVd);
