Campylobacteriosis and salmonellosis remain the most important zoonotic diseases, with campylobacteriosis again being the most frequently recorded zoonotic disease, with a total of 6,793 cases in 202 The second most common zoonotic disease (salmonellosis) is mainly caused by contaminated food, including eggs and meat, salads and raw vegetables, with 1,487 reported cas.
Swiss authorities reported a total of 37 food-related incidents of foodborne illness, a significant increase from 13 in 202 Contaminated food was present in 12 of the 37 reported incidents of foodborne illne.
