For thousands of years, the formation, enrichment and development of traditional Chinese medicine are inseparable from rural areas and farmers Rural areas, farmers and traditional Chinese medicine have an inseparable flesh and blood relationship In recent years, due to the rapid development of modern medicine, the impact of market economy, and the requirements of Western medicine standards for traditional Chinese medicine and a series of other reasons, the service field of traditional Chinese medicine in rural areas has shrunk, and the advantages of simple and cheap inspection have been weakened Some TCM personnel in counties and townships have "Westernized" and changed their practice Many township hospitals have unified western medicine and become truly western hospitals However, in rural areas, there is still an active Chinese medicine team, as always, "seeking ancient maxims and absorbing all kinds of Prescriptions", insisting on the village health center with Chinese medicine characteristic services, among many rural doctors, it can be called "a little red in the green" They have attracted many people from cities, counties and cities to seek medical treatment, and made great contributions to the possession and consolidation of traditional Chinese medicine in rural areas and the promotion of traditional Chinese medicine culture At present, the number of village doctors is 1-2 times that of county hospitals Among them, about 7% of village doctors have the foundation of traditional Chinese medicine, and about 2% of village doctors have better service ability of traditional Chinese medicine, and they also have the advantages of one skill Most of them are aged between 50 and 60 years old, or they are taught by their families or teachers, or they graduated from the traditional Chinese medicine class and the mixed class of traditional Chinese and Western medicine in the county health school Although some of them do not have the certificate of traditional Chinese Medicine issued by the competent department of health, they can skillfully use the traditional Chinese medicine to deal with common diseases in rural areas If we launch this rural TCM force and enrich it to county and township hospitals and health rooms, we will make the existing TCM team double In recent years, local governments have paid more attention to free rotation training of village doctors, trying to change the status quo of rural traditional Chinese medicine services and promote the development of rural traditional Chinese medicine However, in the past few years, the author has never seen or heard of a village health center (or office) that has been trained in traditional Chinese medicine to buy medicine and carry out traditional Chinese medicine services Why? "Economic basis determines superstructure" At present, the factors that restrict the service of traditional Chinese medicine in rural areas are not the lack of skills in village medicine, but the difference of benefits between Chinese and Western medicine and the absence of skills in traditional Chinese medicine In my opinion, it is better to support the practice of medicine with money than with free training First, support village doctors with legal certificates such as TCM doctors and assistant TCM doctors issued by competent health authorities For example, the government departments provide the commonly used traditional Chinese medicine free of charge to promote the development of traditional Chinese medicine services; improve the treatment of practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine to narrow the benefit gap between Chinese and Western medicine services In order to get the qualification of doctor as soon as possible, we should give policy preference to the rural traditional Chinese medicine which is self-taught or has one skill Second, in the situation of "Westernization" and change of profession of TCM staff in county and township hospitals, hospitals or village health centers that ignore economic gains and losses and adhere to the characteristic service of TCM will be rewarded to expand their influence Third, we should vigorously propagandize and set an example for the old Chinese medicine and old experts who are willing to go to the countryside to carry out the service of traditional Chinese medicine In 2008, Wang Guoqiang, Vice Minister of the Ministry of health and director of the State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine, emphasized at the Shandong development conference of traditional Chinese medicine that "establishing a mechanism conducive to guiding and stabilizing the service of TCM personnel at the grass-roots level", attracting and aggregating more TCM personnel to serve the grass-roots level, improving service ability, cultivating successors and enhancing sustainable development Strive to expand the service field How can we win the hearts of the people, meet the reality, and benefit 800 million farmers in the same way as supporting large hospitals and building a civilization of Chinese medicine? How can we not do this?
