Fatigue, reduced function and impaired quality of life are the most common adverse consequences of chemotherapy radiotherapy (CRT)Head and neck cancer (HNC) affects more than half a million people worldwide and its treatment causes severe damage to patients, often affecting their language, swallowing and breathing function, leading to fatigue, depression and physical inactivityThe purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of exercise-based rehabilitation treatment on the functional ability, quality of life, fatigue, hemoglobin and platelet count of CRT HNC patientsstudy randomly grouped 148 patients with CRT-receiving head and neck cancer to evaluate the functional ability of the exercise for the 6-minute walk-test measurement, the quality of life measured in the medical results survey short table 36 v2 questionnaire, and the fatigue, hemoglobin and platelets measured in the NCCN (0-10) scaleThe control group received standard physical activity recommendations, while the exercise group received a structured exercise program for 11 weeks of aerobic and active resistance exerciseresults showed significant improvements in the functional capabilities of the exercise group (p 0.001), quality of life (p 0.001) andpreventingfatigue deterioration (p 0.001)There was no significant difference in blood parameters between the control group and the exercise group, the results show that an 11-week structured exercise program for HNC patients receiving CRT helped improve their functional capacity and quality of lifeIt also prevents the fatigue level of the exercise group from worsening
