One third of a person's life is spent in sleep
The traditional view used to believe that 8 hours of sleep a day is the healthiest sleep cycle, but everyone does not know that sleepiness may also be harmful to the body
Recently, researchers from the National Cancer Center of Japan published an article titled "The Relationship between Adult Sleep Time and All-Cause and Major Mortality Rates" in the Journal of the American Medical Association for the first time
8 hours of sleep has harmed many people and may increase the risk of death
This study is the largest study on the relationship between sleep time and mortality in Asia
The researchers then conducted an in-depth analysis of the relationship between the subjects’ self-reported sleep time and all-cause mortality, cardiovascular disease mortality, cancer mortality, and other cause mortality, and found that 7 hours a day is the best sleep time.
In further experiments, the researchers adjusted for specific causes of death based on the chi-square test, categorical variables, and one-way analysis of variance for continuous variables
Not only that, the study also found that when men sleep ≤ 5 hours and ≥ 10 hours, women sleep ≤ 5 hours, 8 hours, 9 hours, or ≥ 10 hours, the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) death increases; when men sleep for 8 hours , 9 hours and ≥ 10 hours, when women sleep ≥ 10 hours, the risk of cancer death will increase; when men’s sleep time is ≤ 5 hours, 8 hours, 9 hours or ≥ 10 hours, women’s sleep time is 8 hours, 9 hours Hours and ≥10 hours will increase the risk of death from other diseases
In fact, previous studies have found an association between sleep and death risk
Tips for improving sleep!
For decades, people's sleep time and sleep quality seem to have been declining
In February this year, a research team from Beijing University of Technology found that the bedroom environment is closely related to sleep quality
