Ulm University Hospital in Germany recently issued a press release saying that a new study found that vaccination against the new crown can not only effectively prevent the occurrence of severe new crowns, but may also play a role in inhibiting other coronaviruses and help people fight against diseases such as the common cold
In addition to the new coronavirus, at least six other coronaviruses can infect humans, including the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) coronavirus, the Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) coronavirus, and some coronaviruses that cause the common cold, the communique said
The researchers selected 24 volunteers and conducted a study on their serum before and after the new crown vaccine was vaccinated
This suggests that vaccinating against Covid-19 may also have some inhibitory effect on other coronavirus infections, and while unlikely to prevent colds, the researchers say it may be able to reduce the frequency, duration or severity of colds.
The research has been published in the American Journal of Clinical Infectious Diseases
