Special proteins modify key genes to make pests resistant |
Science and Technology Daily, Beijing, May 6 (Reporter Qu Jian) According to the latest news from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences , the vegetable pest control innovation team of the Institute of Vegetables and Flowers of the Institute has taken the lead in the world to reveal a set of 6 special protein-modified key resistance genes , A new mechanism for pests to acquire resistance to pesticides.
Academy of Sciences
Team chief, China Agricultural Research Institute of Vegetables and Flowers, director Zhang Youjun researcher, pest resistance is a natural evolutionary phenomenon, is the result of selection effects of pesticides.

The team discovered a key resistance cytochrome P450 gene formula through transcriptomics research in the early stage; the researchers used molecular biology and biochemistry to confirm that in the process of resistance formation, there are a set of 6 special genes including METTL3.
The study was a national key R & D programs, special vegetable industry technology system and China Agricultural Research Institute -funded scientific and technological innovation projects and other projects.
