On May 21, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) of South Korea announced that the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety of South Korea has re-evaluated the limits of 3-MCPD and melamine, and south Korea will set stricter standards for the content of 3-MCPD in acid decomposing soy sauce and mixed soy sauce. The results of this reassessment show that the total exposure of Korean nationals to 3-MCPD and melamine in the body through agricultural products, animal products, aquatic products and processed foods did not reach the level of harm to human health.
