Peru's "Peruman" reported on August 14, Midagri Minister Andrés Alencastre (Andrés Alencastre) pointed out that quinoa, as a traditional grain produced in the Andean region, has a lot of protein and nutrient.
However, at present, the per capita annual consumption of quinoa in China is less than 3 kilogram.
In order to reach the consumption target of 10 kg per person per year, it is necessary to promote the development of the domestic quinoa market and involve small producers in the production and processing of quino.
To this end, Midagri signed an agreement with the Puno agro-industrial cooperative (Coopin Cabana, a group of 41 producers dedicated to organic quinoa production) to finance its establishment of a quinoa processing plan.
The processing plant has now been built, and Arun Castre was personally present at the inauguration ceremon.

Aron Castre said Midagri's mission is to promote agricultural and rural development "from the bottom up", that is, through communities, cooperatives or other forms of association.
In the past 10 years, through the Competitive Compensation Scheme (Agroideas), Midagri has carried out 197 commercial projects in Puno Region, benefiting 5,973 households and investing 83 million sole.
This year alone, it plans to carry out 14 projects with a budget of over 8 million soles, benefiting 581 farmer.

Aron Castre added that in order to improve the malnutrition of some of the population in the country, it is also necessary to develop a food policy against anaemia and malnutritio.
