Solvay has successfully developed an alkylphenol ethoxylate (APE) for solid epoxy resin and Reactsurf® 0092, a non-ionic reactive water-based emulsifier, to meet the growing needs of the industrial coatings and paint or adhesive industries

Solvay's unique general-purpose Reactsurf® 0092 technology can be used to formulate high-performance water-based epoxy resin coatings, whose performance is comparable to or even better than solvent (SB)-based coatings, while significantly reducing the content of volatile organic compounds (VOCs)

This new, cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and easy-to-process emulsifier combines a unique external and internal emulsification stage without additional chemical modification, and the operation is very simple and convenient

Solvay's Reactsurf®0092 emulsifier contains a highly reactive functional crosslinking group, which makes the emulsification and epoxy achieve a perfect balance and synergy, and finally obtains a highly reactive emulsifier.

The water-based epoxy emulsion containing Solvay Reactsurf® 0092 has excellent freeze-thaw resistance (F/T) performance.

After 500 hours of salt spray test (ASTM B-117) on cold-rolled steel sheets, the epoxy latex paint containing Solvay Reactsurf® 0092 and high pigment volume concentration (PVC) has better performance than other control samples.
