    The cornea is the transparent layer of tissue that covers the eye and is vital to the health and function of the eye


    In a study recently published in Stem Cell Reports, researchers Wei Li, Guo Guo Liu, and colleagues from Xiamen University and Harvard Medical School in the United States assessed the effects of sleep deprivation on corneal stem cells


    Studies have shown that chronic sleep deprivation can have serious effects on corneal health, such as thinning, wrinkling and reduced transparency of the cornea
