Academician Fu Tingdong said that the use of winter idle fields to develop feed rape will not compete with the main grain, and will not affect grain production; rapeseed silage yield is high, usually 4 to 5 tons per mu; high nutritional value, protein content of about 20%; good palatability, livestock I like to eat; the production cost is relatively low, and it can be used as feed, both fresh and sila.

Academician Li Peiwu said that according to the on-site appraisal, silage has broad application prospects in Hubei, especially if it can be mixed with other crops such as corn, if it can achieve annual planting and annual supply, it will ensure food security and promote Hub.
