On August 21, the 300,000-ton/year ethylene glycol project of Sinochem Second Construction Third Company Shanxi Woneng Chemical was put into production, producing qualified ethylene glycol products

The project is located in the Eco-Industrial Park of Quwo County, Shanxi Province, with a total investment of nearly 4 billion yuan.
It is a key chemical project in Shanxi Province and the first domestic device to use coke oven gas and converter gas to produce ethylene glycol
.
The three companies contracted to build the main equipment for ethylene glycol synthesis, compression and distillation
.
After the project is completed and put into operation, it will produce 300,000 tons of ethylene glycol and 150,000 tons of liquefied natural gas every year
.
The project makes full use of the complementary advantages of converter gas with more carbon and less hydrogen and coke oven gas with less carbon and more hydrogen to produce high value-added ethylene glycol products.
At the same time, the CH4 rich in coke oven gas is used to produce LNG through cryogenic technology

The successful implementation of the project will create a precedent in the comprehensive utilization of converter gas and coke oven gas.
Compared with other gas utilization methods, this method can reduce carbon emissions by 560,000 tons and nitrogen oxide emissions by more than 700 tons
