On December 9, 2021, the Chinese Nutrition Society organized experts and scholars from universities and scientific research institutes in the field of GI, as well as representatives of certification, testing, and food production companies to hold a seminar on GI labeling specifications for prepackaged foods in Beijing

Chairman Yang Yuexin of the Chinese Nutrition Society attended the meeting, which was chaired by researcher Xiang Xuesong, the person in charge of the Chinese Nutrition Society's group standard "Specifications for the Labeling of Glycemic Index of Prepackaged Foods"

The meeting first introduced and interpreted the health industry standard WS/T 652-2019 "Methods for the determination of food glycemic index", emphasizing that the generation of GI data requires strict implementation of the regulations in the standard

Experts and business representatives at the conference agreed that food GI is an important evaluation index for carbohydrate quality, an important tool for diabetes prevention and management, and has broad development prospects in the field of nutrition and health.
