Professor Wu's team found that lncRNA OVAAL, which is highly expressed in tumor tissue, plays an important role in the development of drug resistance in tumor cells: on the one hand, it promotes the proliferation of tumor cells and anti-apoptosis. On the other hand, the aging of tumor cells is avoided. Therefore, human intervention reduces OVAAL expression, reduces the resistance of tumor cells to a variety of anti-tumor drugs, inhibits the growth of mouse transplant tumors, and promotes tumor cell aging. This suggests that OVAAL has a cancer-promoting effect and may be a potential target for overcoming cancer resistance.
